What about all the photographers who give there models the smokey eye look? Is this really to be avoided? Seems alot of professional models are doing this look more and more now! I love eye ...See more shadow colors the best of all the makeup would be a shame to skip it!

Hi Lisa! Those are the professional ones and while I love the smoky eye look, if you don’t do it right, it won’t show up great on film. :)

New models will sometimes do their own makeup. But, as you said “professional models”, they dont “do” their own looks. They show up ...See more on set and get whatever look the makeup artist is instructed to do, by the client!
When a “smokey eye look” is used in photos, it is usually for a glamour type look or a fashion look. If that is what you are going for, then do it. But, it has to be done right or it will just look like you have a black eye.
