Horrid Makeup Mistakes You Need to Stop Making Immediately ...

No one is immune to making mistakes when it comes to using and wearing makeup. I’ve made plenty of them myself. Imagine light blue lipstick. Yep! I totally did that in high school. While wearing blue on your lips is an obvious makeup mistake, others aren’t so obvious. However, if you want to look the best you can, there are some mistakes you should stop making. Once you know what they are, you can do just that. So here they are!

You Don’t Extend Your Foundation Far Enough off Your Face

You Don’t Extend Your Foundation Far Enough off Your Face When you apply foundation, you must extend it down your chin a little bit. If you stop right at the edge of your jawline, the difference will be too obvious. Simply smoothing just a bit under your chin helps blend your face tone with your chin and neck so that you get that flawless finish you crave. At the same time, make sure you bring your foundation along the sides of your face and up to your hairline too.

You Have to Blend Your Eyeshadow when You Apply More than One Color

You Have to Blend Your Eyeshadow when You Apply More than One Color I like to wear a base color on my lids and a highlighting color along by brows. However, if I don’t blend the two, it looks strange and severe rather than soft and feminine. It only takes a quick swipe with the end of a finger to blend your eyeshadow colors, no matter how many you use, so there’s no reason not to be doing it.

You Don’t Make Good Use of Your Eyelash Curler

You Don’t Make Good Use of Your Eyelash Curler Really, you should curl your lashes anytime you wear mascara. It helps open up your eyes and help you look awake and alert. It only takes a couple of seconds to curl your top lashes before swiping on a couple of coats of mascara. This is a mistake you have to stop making right now.

You Test Facial Shades on Your Face

You Test Facial Shades on Your Face I know it sounds like a no-brainer to test new makeup on your face, but the truth is that you should use the inside of your wrist instead. This will give you a really close match that is sometimes hard to see in different kinds of light. Use your wrist to test foundation and blush shades as well as eyeshadow and you’ll get a pretty good idea of what will look good on your face and what won’t.

Your Concealer Should Go on after Your Foundation

Your Concealer Should Go on after Your Foundation Your inclination might be to cover blemishes and breakouts first, but when you smooth on your foundation, you mess it up. Instead, apply concealer after your foundation. This lets you cover up stuff you want to keep under wraps, but it’s way easier to blend the concealer with your foundation when you put it on second.

You Use Loose Powder to Soak up Face Grease

You Use Loose Powder to Soak up Face Grease I’ve been known to do this a time or two. It might seem like using loose powder would help combat shine, but it actually only serves to create creases and lines in your makeup when it settles. Instead, use a mattifying powder, which gives you the shine-free look you want without taking a ton of extra time or effort.

You Aren’t Washing Your Makeup Tools on a Regular Basis

You Aren’t Washing Your Makeup Tools on a Regular Basis When you fail to wash your makeup sponges, tools and brushes, you run the risk of breakouts and nasty germs. You must wash them with warm water and soap once a week so that you kill germs, remove buildup and keep them sanitary and ready for use all the time.

Are you making any of these makeup mistakes? Got any other tips for getting the best makeup look ever?

Actually most professionals say you test the foundation on the jaw line not the wrist so this is not a mistake at all

Yea, make sure to use a primer before you put on your foundation. So your makeup will go on as smooth as possible& stay. Make sure you blend your foundation down your neck. Use concealor underneath eyes and on lids as a base for your eyeshadow. I use make-up forever, it cosmetics, Clinique's setting powder around your forehead, nose and chin. Apply blush/bronzer. Add brows, shadow, mascara primer& mascara.

Dita von Teese!!!!

I like to take a make up wedge with a piece of single ply toilet paper (peel apart your 2ply) wrapped around it to blot my face after foundation. It picks up the excess foundation on oils.

My wrist is like 10 shades lighter than my face so no😂

This isn't true at all

Or if you're a golfer/ athlete that wears a glove, using your hand or wrist can be very deceiving. So, just use the bottom part of your jaw or go to a local beauty store and have a pro match your skin tone to a foundation.

For the love of god, make sure your foundation actually matches your neck. (check in day light!) Nobody looks good wearing an orange mask of foundation.

Test foundation on your face. Your hand is several shades darker than your face because it gets more sun. Choose 3 shades that closely match your undertone, and swipe on your jawline to your neck and blend out with a foundation brush. Whichever one disappears is the one you should go with.
