Prep with Primer

You always want to make sure that the first makeup tricks for uneven skin tone that you try all start with primer. Priming your skin is the best way to make sure that your makeup looks beautiful and stays put! I always start with eye primer and then go with a full face primer.

2

Foundation

Next up, your foundation is going to be the most important thing that makes your skin looks completely even. You always want to get a foundation color that is of the exact same shade as your skin, that way your skin will look all smooth and natural. You don't want your face to be a different color from your chest, right girls?

3

Conceal to Make Skin Tone Even

If you have a lot of patches of uneven skin tone or even any imperfections of your skin, make sure that you are using a bit of concealer, that way you can blend everything together. My favorite brand of concealer is MAC. I know it's expensive, but it is so worth it and it is so light!

4

Powder It up

Whenever you are dealing with foundation and concealer, you always want to set everything with powder. Whether you are choosing pressed or loose, that's completely your choice, but you do want to use it. For me, I use pressed powder, I think that it allows you to have a little more control and you can eliminate that shine with just a few swipes!

5

Highlight Your Cheekbones

When you have uneven skin tones, it's really hard to draw attention to anything besides your skin tone – unless you highlight! Using a bit of highlighting along your cheekbones can really brighten up your entire face. It will also allow your skin to look even and beautiful!

Contour Any Uneven Patches

Contouring is one of the best ways that you can hide all of your uneven skin tones and even buff them out with makeup! Using a bit of bronzer and a bit of blush can make all of the difference in the world, girls! What I do is typically use a little bronzer along my cheekbones and then blush along the apples of my cheeks.

7

Add in Some Color

Remember the blush? It should have some type of color to it! Pinks, corals and even some deeper hues are all great to hide that uneven skin tone and really brighten up your entire face! For me, I use a bit of coral, just because I really like the way it looks on my skin, but you've got to find a color that works for you.

8

Swipe on Some Gloss

Finally, the last makeup trick for uneven skin tones that I've got is to swipe on just a little bit of gloss. That's all you really need in order to draw attention to your lips. Whether it is clear gloss or a tinted gloss, it'll absolutely make your face stand out a bit!

So girls, there you have it! All of my tips, tricks and advice on how you can hide all of that uneven skin and make it look flawless. What other tips do you have? Any to share?

Where Thoughts and Opinions Converge

I have rosacea, a skin condition that makes your face quite red. When I wear foundation, whether it has yellow or pink undertones, it turns pink on my face within an hour. I tend to choose medium to full coverage foundations, and would like one from the drugstore. Do you have any suggestions or tips you could share? Thank you! :)
