Mermaid Makeup Tutorial by Alexa Poletti

Mermaid makeup tutorials can look a little cartoonish, but Alexa’s version is very ethereal and pretty. I am so digging her teal and purple eyes and the purple brows are funky in a good way. The “scales” or glitter flakes she added to the side of her face is incredible pretty and much easier than drawing on scales. I think she looks like a more modern version of Ariel!

2

Mermaid Makeup Tutorial by Lolo Love

This mermaid makeup tutorial is focused on the upper half of the face with lots of sparkly jewels, glitter, bright eye shadow shades and teal lashes. Lolo used a fishnet stocking to create her scales along with glitter flakes and that looks really cool, too. She also made a super cute clip gluing together two starfish together. If you understand Spanish, Lolo also made a Spanish version of this tutorial as well!

3

Mermaid Tail Inspired Makeup Tutorial by Goldiestarling

Goldiestarling’s version of mermaid makeup is much more wearable than the others and if you’re daring enough, you can probably wear this to school or work if they’re not too conservative. I love, love, love the small rhinestones that she used to mimic the mermaid’s tail on the outer corner of her eyes. They just bring the eyes to life! The teal liner, shadow and glitter liquid liner she used on her bottom lash line are majorly pretty as well.

Mermaid Halloween Makeup Tutorial by Carlibel

Carli’s makeup tutorial, minus the hair accessories and scales, could also be worn for a night out or anytime you feel like wearing pink and purple eye makeup, not just Halloween. I really love all the different colors she used on her eyes from the silvery white to the pale pink and purple. Even the teal and yellow on the bottom look very natural when it’s all done!

Mystical Mermaid Makeup Tutorial by Syntheticdoll

This is supposed to be one of the easier mermaid makeup tutorials makeup-wise, but girlfriend used a ton of glitter and plastic foils so if you’re obsessed with all things sparkly like myself, this is a good look to try out. Also, how gorgeous are the eye shadows from the UD Vice palette she used?! The gold and turquoise eye shadows blended together seamlessly and are seriously to die for.

Swamp Mermaid Makeup by Dope2111

If a swampy mermaid is more your style, Promise made a very lovely makeup look that’s still very pretty but has sort of a sea creature type feel to it. I think it’s all the green makeup and her ivy crown that makes me think more of a sea creature than a mermaid. It’s still very pretty nevertheless and although she uses a lot of products, I think it’s one of the easier looks to recreate.

Mystical Mermaid Makeup Tutorial by UnlimitedElizabeth

This last tutorial will probably only work for costume parties and Halloween because she went all out with the makeup, but I didn’t want to show you a bunch of similar looking mermaid makeup and I thought this one really stood out. She didn’t draw on or apply anything on her face for scales but the tiny pearls on her temples remind me of bubbles. Although this one is very different from the rest, I think it’s still very creative and pretty and let’s not forget her perfect beachy hair.

Are you in the mood to do some mermaid makeup now? I know we’re months away from Halloween, but since it’s summer I thought it would a great time to look at some sea-inspired makeup. Have you ever done mermaid makeup before? Any words of advice for mermaid makeup newbies?
