7 Brilliant Korean BB Creams for Glowing Summer Skin ...

By Paula

You've probably heard of Blemish Balms, or BB creams, by now, and Korean BB creams are some of the best around! Originally developed in Germany to provide kind-to-skin coverage for patients after facial surgery, BB creams have taken the beauty world by storm, but many of the ones released here in the UK don't offer as many skincare benefits as their Asian counterparts. I've been experimenting with Korean BB creams over the last month, so thought I would share with you some of my most (and least) favorite creams.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Skin 79 Hot Pink BB Cream

Skin 79 Hot Pink BB Cream This is one of Korea's best-selling BB creams and it has a number of skincare benefits. It whitens acne scars and imperfections, provides SPF25, smooths lines and wrinkles and provides moisture. This is one of my favorite Korean BB creams although it does only come in one (quite fair) shade in a 15ml or 40ml size. It's great for oily/combination skin and I love how light it feels on.

Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream

Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream This was the first Korean BB cream I purchased, and one of its major benefits is that it comes in a choice of 5 shades. I purchased #21, which is quite light and suitable for my fair skin. You'll find it in 20ml or 50ml sizes. The downside to this BB cream is that, although it provided the best coverage and has SPF42, it left my combination skin feeling greasy and oily immediately after application, and I was aware of this throughout the day. For winter use or drier skin types, this would be ideal.

Skin 79 Gold Super plus BB Cream

Skin 79 Gold Super plus BB Cream I got this BB cream as a free sample with my Missha creams, and I love it! It's slightly more moisturizing than the hot pink BB but it also provides less oil control. I would say this is ideal for more mature, drier skin, but again it does come in just one shade, which is slightly darker than the hot pink one.

Lioele beyond the Solution BB Cream

Lioele beyond the Solution BB Cream This was another free sample and I've seen a lot of reviews about this BB cream. First, the positives. It provides very natural looking coverage, with a warmer color and none of the grey cast you may find from the Skin 79 creams. It only comes in one shade, and offers no SPF, which means it's lighter on the skin and less sticky; it can be layered for more coverage. The negatives? This gave me a major breakout after just one use. Disappointing.

Lioele Triple the Solution BB Cream

Lioele Triple the Solution BB Cream This is another great BB cream from Lioele, this time with SPF 30, which gives it a stickier texture. Unlike Beyond the Solution, this BB cream provides whitening and wrinkle care, but again it only comes in one shade. I had more success with this BB cream and didn't experience any breakouts, so I would recommend it to more sensitive types.

Missha Signature Real Complete BB Cream

Missha Signature Real Complete BB Cream Available in 20ml or 50ml size, this BB cream is my least favorite of the ones I've tried! Although the packaging is gorgeous and it's available in 4 different shades, I found the texture so liquid that it was nearly impossible to apply. It highlighted my flaws instead of providing coverage and left a very unnatural finish. Not one I will be re-ordering, although I know many beauty bloggers swear by it!

Lioele Dollish Veil Vita BB Cream in Natural Green

Lioele Dollish Veil Vita BB Cream in Natural Green Available in Natural Green or Gorgeous Purple, I was drawn to this BB cream as the green shade promises to conceal redness. It comes out of the (very pretty!) packaging like a pale mint green cream, with tiny particles that burst as you blend it to match with your skin tone. Whilst I found this did blend well, it's too light for me to use alone. I use it as a primer or base underneath another BB cream or foundation, and find it coves redness around my nose and on my cheeks well! Plus, it looks so cute on my bedside table!

Have you tried any Korean BB creams? Do you prefer them to foundation for fresh, glowing skin? Or maybe there are some you've tried that I haven't listed here - I would love to hear your recommendations!

I guess a brown skinned Black woman can't use any of these :-(

Hunny, these products doesn't exist in Egypt ;) #TheUglyTruth

How about indian toned skins? Can we buy this online?

Unfortunate that they have no offerings for brown girls 😒

Missha Perfect Cover shade 31 is suitable for darker skin :)
