7 Drugstore Makeup Products You Should Definitely Pass on ...

There are a lot of drugstore makeup products that are wonderful and offer a lot of bang for your buck, but there are also some you should definitely pass on. I love to use drugstore products when they work for me because it saves me bunches in comparison to buying department store brands. But I have found that there are some drugstore makeup products you should not bring home with you. Let me share my experience to save you the time and trouble of doing it yourself.

1 CoverGirl Clump Crusher Mascara

I have to say that I love CoverGirl mascaras, but the CoverGirl Clump Crusher does not measure up. It is a definite do not buy on the list of drugstore makeup products you should not purchase. Although I love Lash Blast and Flamed Out mascaras, this one is not the same. It doesn’t go on well and it seems like it dries out easily. Stick with the other formulas.

Frequently asked questions

2 Sally Hansen Hard as Nails

I don’t have awesome nails. They tend to split and break easily. So I picked up some Sally Hansen Hard As Nails in hopes of fixing that problem. It did not come through for me. What worked much better was taking a vitamin that was formulated for hair and nail health.

3 Maybelline Unstoppable Eyeliner

When I use eyeliner, which is daily, I want it to glide on smoothly and stay in place. This eyeliner was horrible. It was hard and difficult to apply and I kept feeling like I had to tug it, which was not a pleasant sensation. It is like the eyeliner is rough and not soft enough to go on smoothly. It actually hurt to put on, so this one is definite reject.

4 Cover Girl Brow Shaper

Ladies, I cannot say that this brow shaper was difficult to apply. It is a nice, smooth texture. But the colors never worked well for me and always left my eyebrows looking orange tinted, which I did not want, of course. It also had no staying power and would easily wipe off if I touched my eyebrows or sweated any at all. I switched to Mary Kay’s eyebrow pencil and am much more satisfied.

5 Revlon Colorstay Eye Shadow Quad

The colors in this line of Revlon products are very pretty, but they are difficult to apply. They are very messy and I end up with eye shadow down my face when I wear this. I end up having to go back and do a clean up session after I apply it. I will finish this up but I will not purchase another eye shadow in this line.

6 Almay Intense I-Color

You know, every time I see these eye shadows on someone, I love how they look. But they just don’t work for me. I am such a fair skinned blonde that they tend to clash with my coloring. It seems the colors are too warm for me. They may work great for others but for me, they are a drugstore makeup item to pass on.

7 Maybelline the Colossal Mascara

I bought this mascara when I was in need of one immediately and didn’t do any research on it beforehand. That is always a mistake for me. This mascara was just wimpy, for lack of a better word. It didn’t have any power to lift, color or do anything spectacular to my lashes. I was very disappointed in it. There are many better mascaras available in drugstores.

Here it is, my list of drugstore makeup products you should definitely pass on. But I would love to know what drugstore makeup products have let you down. Would you share them with me?
