7 Key Looks for Spring 2013 ...

Are you ready for the key looks for Spring 2013? With the fashion shows already underway and the temperatures rising, I’m desperate to ditch thick jumpers and dark winter make-up for something more fresh and Spring-like. Here are the key looks you’ll be wearing over the next season…

1

Blue Eyed Girl

Pastel colors are big for the eyes this spring, and nothing is hotter than a cute pastel blue. For maximum impact, mix a pastel shade with a brighter pop – powder blue and aqua complement each other perfectly, and capture a look that is both youthful and retro. It’s a great (and instant!) way to wear the key looks for Spring 2013!

2

Metallics

There’s a new take on the classic smoky, and it’s much more creative. Chanel championed this look, using washes of metallic colors across the eyes to really make their outfits pop. Thin black eyeliner around the eyes surrounded by a metallic wash across the eyelid up to the eyebrow and out past the eyeliner is the best way to get the look, and finish with a few coats of a non-clump mascara. Chic.

3

Edgy

Need a look that’s not too different, but still gives you that Spring feeling? There’s a whole variety of different eyeliner colors coming available, and whereas before you had a choice between the boring and the very bright, you’ll have a lot more choice. A thick navy line across your top lid is easy, quick and fresh, and chocolate browns are set to be big too. I can’t wait to work forest green!

4

Big Brows

Eyebrows are big and graphic this season. Forget going for a pluck – instead get your brows brushed up to offer definition and strength, and don’t be afraid to go bold! It adds a very chic symmetry to your look, and it’s been all over the catwalk teamed with poker straight hair.

5

Natural

Orange is on its way out! This season is all about the natural look. Think luminous, just-washed and clean skin – so tinted moisturizers are a new handbag essential, and you’ll be needing a good concealer for under the eyes!

Flush Blush

Blusher is back to being what it does best this season, and that’s giving you a healthy, natural and reflective glow. Ditch the bolder colors in favor of natural tones that sculpt the cheekbones and add a bronze to your cheeks – it's well worth investing in a palette of nude bronzes and browns to work with different looks.

Pop Art

Want to play up your lips? Make them bold and bright. Bright oranges and pinks ruled the catwalk, but were given a more modern touch with an opaque, velvety finish. Get the look by using a concealer as a base before adding a bright lip pencil outline and filling in with a velvet lipstick. A natural base and eyes are best for this - some light mascara and a concealer should be enough to keep you looking great without being too overdone. I'm loving the bed-head hair and bright lips combo!

So what do you think of these key looks for Spring 2013? Are there any you’ll be loving, or completely avoiding? I can’t wait to test out some bright lips, bold eyes and natural bases, and I’m looking forward to updating my make-up bag with some new colors too. Let me know how you’ll be wearing them!

@Adriana I agree

Forest green is one of my favourite eyeliner colours!

I hate natural I love bright tacky colors so much more fun

Awesome post. Especially about the tanning becoming outdated. I read this somewhere else as well. It's awesome to know that I don't have to kill my body and skin in order to stay up to date on trends anymore.

When are you ever gonna start posting more pictures??!!! Gosh we can't even imagine what the looks will be like if we don't see them!

I love all of these looks well try all of them.

Love Barbie pink lips!! Revlon just bitten lip balm is great in darling and keeps lip moisturized hard to find a color balm that really stays and moisturizes
