It’s hard to believe it’s already time to start wearing your lipsticks for spring. Although I am still wearing my favorites from last year, I love to add new colors to my collection as well. So I hit the shelves and the internet to buy, try, and read about all the best colors for the season. I don’t think you’ll go wrong if you try out any of these 7 lovely lipsticks for spring 2014!
1. Chanel – Rouge Allure Velvet in La Diva
There is perhaps no better color for lipsticks for spring than pink. Spring is all about the blooming flowers, warmer weather, and renewal, and no color channels this better than pink. This Chanel lipstick is a bright, but not too over-the-top shade of pink that will complement your spring wardrobe. The texture is matte, but you won’t believe how soft and non-drying the formula is. You can get this lovely lipstick for spring at chanel.com.
2. Lipstick Queen – Hello Sailor
Who says you can’t wear berry in the springtime? Lipstick Queen makes it totally possible with their Hello Sailor sheer lipstick. Although the lipstick looks blue in the tube, it goes on as a sheer blackberry color with just the slightest sapphire tint. Your lips won’t leave you looking cold and dead, but they will make your teeth look white as blue makes your pearly whites shine! The color is suspended in Vitamin E so it will be hard to find a better feeling lipstick for spring than this. This shade makes the perfect subtle spring statement that I have a feeling you will love. Visit lipstickqueen.com to shop Hello Sailor!
3. Marc Jacobs Beauty – Lovemarc Matte Lip Gel in Flirt
You need this limited edition Marc Jacobs lipstick in your makeup bag for spring. Flirt is a demi-matte, soft peach color that looks great on nearly every skin tone. Peach is a good alternative to your favorite nude. It will still give you the same look, but with a slightly pink and orange undertone. I love this color for spring because of how soft and subtle it is. It will add to, but not detract from, your bright and colorful spring wardrobe. You can shop Flirt and the other shades in the Lovemarc collection exclusively at sephora.com.
4. Lime Crime – Velvetines in Suedeberry
Although a red lip is always in season, I enjoy non-traditional reds in the springtime. One of my favorites is Lime Crime’s Velvetines in Suedeberry. It is a liquid lipstick that goes on matte in a gorgeous coral red shade. Once the lipstick dries, it is absolutely kiss-proof! I think you’ll love the unique color of Suedeberry as well. It is a great alternative to your favorite red lipstick. You can pick one up at limecrime.com.
5. Bite Beauty – Luminous Crème Lipstick Duo in Vivid
Bite Beauty is one of my all time favorite makeup lines and I can’t get over their incredible new lipstick duos. The Vivid duo combines two of my favorite spring colors in one tube – magenta and violet. If you’re thinking that this looks inconvenient to put on or carry around in your purse, don’t because each of the lipsticks unscrews to become more manageable. Bite Beauty only uses food-grade ingredients so go ahead and try this on and lick your lips! Think it can’t get any better? It totally can. This wonderful lipstick contains Resveratrol (the same ingredient found in red wine) that fights aging and wrinkles, as well as fighting free radicals. Wow! Head on over to sephora.com to get this spring lipstick duo that no makeup bag should be without!
6. Dior – Dior Addict Lipstick in Délice
If you want your lips to sparkle and shimmer, then you’ll love Dior’s Dior Addict Lipstick Collection. For spring, I am obsessed with the Délice shade – a sheer and shimmering coral. Although corals are often associated with summer, I love to start using them in the springtime. This lipstick hydrates your lips leaving them feeling silky and kissable. You can get this lipstick by visiting dior.com.
7. MAC – Sheen Supreme Lipstick in Asian Flower
MAC’s Sheen Supreme Lipsticks are designed to be the perfect hybrid between a lip-gloss and a lipstick. You can get the best of both worlds in one convenient tube! The color Asian Flower is a delicate lavender that will look stunning on your lips this spring. I love pastels for the spring months and Asian Flower is one of the most flattering ones I’ve seen. You can get this lipstick at maccosmetics.com.
