Makeup artist Lauren Cosenza (writer of divaliciousblog.com) is about to rock your world with this tutorial of how to get a subtle yet statement-making smokey eye! Here's what you need to know:
What you'll need:
Primer
White powder eye shadow
White cream eye shadow
Brownish-gray powder eye shadow
Black eyeliner

First things first, priming. Prep your eyes with a silicone-based primer. Try Urban Decay Primer Potion (urbandecay.com).

After that, using a wide shadow brush, sweep a white powder eyeshadow over your eyelid. Try using MAC's Eye Shadow in "Gesso" (maccosmetics.com).

Now, start working on creating an ombrรจ effect at the inner corner of your eyes using a white cream shadow. Try the Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream shadow in "Snow" (makeupforever.com). With a shadow brush, start to intensify the white shade at the inner "V" of your eyes.

Once that's done, it's time to use a brownish-gray shadow to add the smokey look. Use a shadow brush to blend the dark shadow at the outer corner of your eye but make sure to diffuse it so it isn't too intense. After all, this is a subtle look, remember? You can dust the dark shade along your lower lash line to finish the edgy look. Use MAC Cosmetics Eye Shadow in "Embark," (maccosmetics.com).

If you're going to add eyeliner to the look, now's the time to wing it out. Line your top lash line with whatever liner works best for you (i.e: liquid, gel, or pencil).

You're almost done! Now, all you need to do is top off your look with some mascara! Bam - your subtle smokey eye is complete.

Where would you wear this beautiful subtle smokey eye look?
