5 Pro Tips for a Natural No Makeup Look ...

I'm going to give you some tips for a natural no-makeup look. Here’s the thing, every single girl in the world wishes that a perfect ‘no makeup look’ meant exactly that, going completely natural and not having to use a single ounce of product. Unfortunately, and frustratingly, that doesn’t actually appear to be the case! When we say no makeup, we don’t actually mean no makeup, we’re talking about a fresh-faced, cleaner, more rejuvenated look that, in comparison to the heavy blush and fierce smoky eyes of the world, feels positively natural! If you want to go completely without makeup to achieve a real product-less look, then go for it, but if you are someone who wants to feel more natural whilst still having the security of some makeup on your face, then here are some tips for a natural no-makeup look.

1

Protect Skin First

Before you even start to think about the kinds of makeup to use, you need to be making sure that your skin is as glowing and luminous as it can be. This can be achieved by intensive washing and moisturising, along with a commitment to always apply a lightweight sunscreen, even in seemingly safe weather. The sun is always ready to do damage, even in overcast conditions, so SPF 30 sunscreen is a must. This is one of the best tips for a natural no-makeup look, but keep reading for more.

2

Skip the Heavy Foundation

Move away from using a heavy base of foundation for your look, and get more into the worlds of BB creams and tinted moisturisers. You can achieve the best natural looks with these products by applying with smaller sponges and even fingers. Add a small amount of translucent powder around the areas that you are likely to touch, like around your chin and nose for example, and you should be good to go!

3

Natural Flush

Rather than trying to make your cheek area stand out from the crowd, find a creamy blush that matches the natural flush of your skin. By matching these colours, you are presenting as natural a look as possible whilst also using the makeup to maintain an air of control with regards to your colouring. The most natural areas for applying blush tend to be the areas where sunlight falls, so the bridge of your nose, your forehead, chin and cheeks.

4

Mascara

There is no need to go over and over your lashes when seeking a natural mascara look. One coat of dark brown or medium brown mascara should do the trick, and you will be surprised just how much more natural it looks compared to darker blacks.

5

Lip Gloss

Lip gloss, rather than lipstick, is key to achieving a more natural, no makeup look. You should be looking for a lip gloss that is only one shade brighter than your natural lip colour, just enough to give it a pop without looking too false or overpowering. The secret is to keep it looking fresh all day long by having it nearby to be able to reapply!
