Have you discovered the beauty of skin illuminators yet? I admit I’m still a newbie when it comes to this beauty product. However, I had to share some of the top-of-the-line skin illuminators and highlighters that I stumbled across so that you too can unearth the seemingly magical qualities they have! What better way to instantly brighten and create radiant, glowing skin?! If you’re as excited as I am to give your face an instant makeover, keep scrolling down for more!
1. NARS Illuminator
Another one of the great things about skin illuminators is that they come in different colors so you can give your face a golden glow or simply give your natural skin tone a boost! Nars’ illuminator goes on silky smooth and can be used to make bare skin look radiant or a made up face look ethereal. Find this product at Sephora or department stores for $30.
2. Sonia Kashuk Super Sheer Shimmering Highlighter
Did you know that there’s a difference between a highlighter and an illuminator? For the purpose of this post I’ll be posting both, but the difference per MUA Nigel Stanislaus is that highlighters are intense and should only be used on cheekbones and brow bones to sculpt the face. Illuminators can be worn alone or mixed with foundation or moisturizer to brighten the complexion. Now that we got that out of the way, Sonia Kashuk’s lightweight highlighter hydrates and brightens the skin. Pick this up at Target for $9.79.
3. Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highighting Concealer
If you’re looking for more of a subtle brightening effect, Maybelline’s highlighting concealer could be just what you’re looking for. This concealer not only hides imperfections but it also helps sculpts areas of the face and leaves behind a soft glow. You can also use this product on your lips to create the illusion of fuller lips! Find this at most drugstores for around $5.99
4. Illamasqua Illuminator
This illuminator comes in three shades so it’s great for a range of skin tones. Use this fast-drying beauty product to impart light, shine and enhance your features and skin tone. This product is long-wearing, versatile and leaves a soft shimmer to your skin for hours so you can get your glow on all day or night! Feel free to use this on your lips, to highlight your brow bone or even mixed with moisturizer to make your décolletage glimmer!
5. Milani Illuminating Face Powder
This beauty product is more than just an illuminator, you can use it as a bronzer, blush and highlighter. Available in three different color combos, this face powder can be a great product for travel when you’re limited on space and time, or for everyday looks. Use it to contour your face, add some color to your cheeks or highlight your face for a brighter complexion! Buy this at most drugstores for around $8.
6. Benefit Fine One One
Another beauty product with multiple uses is Benefit’s cute and chic cheek and lip illuminator. Great for girls on the go and beauty product aficionados alike, this compact brightening and illuminating product will have you glowing and going in no time! Swipe it on your cheeks for a multi-dimensional look or use it on your lips to give them a pop! Find it at Ulta or Sephora for $30.
7. COVERGIRL Queen Natural Hue Bronzer
Although this product is labeled a bronzer, it too leaves a beautiful shimmer on your skin. Use this to contour your face or to leave a healthy, natural glow on your skin. Some ladies have found that this product works great in lieu of foundation for an amazing powder foundation or on top of liquid foundation as a luminous pressed powder!
8. E.l.f. Essential Shimmering Facial Whip
e.l.f.’s Shimmering Facial Whip is a smooth, blendable highlighter that you can use on your cheeks, eyelids, brow bone or lips to create radiant sparkle and brighten up any dull areas. Plus, it’s priced at only $1, so you really can’t go wrong! This comes in 5 different colors that are sure to showcase your most flattering features. Find this at Target or eyeslipsface.com.
Illuminators and highlighters can do a lot to add a sexy glow or help brighten up our complexion. I think it’s even better when the highlighter or illuminator is mixed with concealer or other beauty product to cover up blemishes while still making your face stand out! Do you use any illuminators or highlighters? What’s your favorite brand?
