If you want to retain your same basic look, but take it to another level, using some of these tips and tricks is going to change your life. Incorporate the ones you love and skip the ones you don’t, and you’ll always look as perfect as you can.
Nothing makes me madder than taking the time to give myself a manicure, only to wind up with marks, bubbles and smudges because it takes so long to dry. Ensure that you have the most beautiful nails around by drying them instantly. All you have to do is hold your nails in a bowl of ice water for three minutes. It might be a tad uncomfortable, but we’re talking wet to dry in less than five minutes!
Tired of clumpy mascara making your eyelashes look less than perfect? If you have some Visine handy, add a couple drops and use the mascara wand to mix it in. This will thin your mascara so it goes on lovely and smooth each and every time. Of course, if the mascara is more than 6 months old, toss it and buy a new tube.
This magical little trick will ensure that your lipstick lasts for hours without smudging or disappearing altogether. Use a soft baby toothbrush to gently scrub your lips. This will remove dead skin cells and leave your with a clear palette for applying your lipstick. You can also use a mixture of olive oil and sugar to further exfoliate. It only takes a minute or two and you will love the results.
The water line is the area just above where your eyelashes attach to your skin. Line it with white eyeliner and you instantly look more awake and give the illusion of having larger eyes. Black, on the other hand, makes your eyes look smaller. This step won’t take any extra time, but you’ll notice the difference right away.
A heated eyelash curler does a better job of giving your lashes the curved shape you crave. Just like your curling iron works better when it’s hot. Blast it with the blow dryer for about 5 seconds just before curling and you’ll see a big difference in how your lashes look.
The experts say that applying your make-up with downward strokes keeps the fine hair on your face from sticking up and out, which makes it way more noticeable. You should always use upward strokes for lotion to prevent wrinkles though. Easy enough, right?
I think we’re all on a quest to have long lasting lipstick. Here’s a trick from make-up artists that can really help. Once you have your lipstick in place, press a tissue to it, and then dust powder over the tissue. Remove the tissue and you have the perfect look. It’s a bit of a matte finish and the powder helps hold the lipstick in place.
