1. Figure out Your Best Feature

When you’re defining your daily makeup routine, it can help to figure out your best feature. You may automatically know what this is. If you don’t then think about what you get the most compliments on. Do people compliment your eyes, your smile, your cheekbones or something else? That feature is the one you want to play up.

2. Decide Which Makeup Products Aren’t Worth It to You

There are so many different makeup products to choose from. You don’t have to use all of them and in fact, you shouldn’t. If something seems like it isn’t worth it to you then leave it out. For me, one of those products is bronzer. It’s something I’ve never had an interest in. Decide which makeup products are worth the end result to you.

3. Decide How Much Time You’re Willing to Spend Doing Daily Makeup

When you’re defining your daily makeup routine, figure out how much time you want to spend on your makeup each day. This’ll vary from woman to woman and there’s no wrong answer here. For me, I spend about 15 minutes a day applying my makeup. I also have a 5-minute face for days that are completely cray-cray. Knowing how much time you’re willing to spend on your makeup each day helps to simplify your routine.

4. Figure out What You do and Don’t Need

Just because there’s a makeup product for a certain need doesn’t necessarily mean that you need it. For example, if you’ve got naturally rosy cheeks then you may not need blush. If you’re gifted with beautifully shaped lips then you probably have no need of a lip liner. And may I just add that I’m totally jealous of you since lip liner is a must for me! The point is that you should evaluate your face and determine what makeup products you do and don’t need.

5. Invest in Quality Brushes and Beauty Tools

Quality brushes and beauty tools will make your makeup application go smoother. I understand if you’re on a budget and can’t afford top of the line. I’ve been there. When you’re in that position all you can do is buy the best you can afford. Read up on different brands to see which has the best reviews in your price range.

6. Try out Some Combo Products

Something else that can help you simplify your makeup routine is to try some combo products. This can save you both time and money. BB creams can offer you the benefits of moisturizer, sunscreen and foundation all in one. Some mascaras have primers built into them. Look around and see what combo products you can find to work for you.

7. Check Your Lighting

This tip can make a huge difference. Good lighting helps you to see better so it’s easier and quicker to apply your makeup. Many bathrooms are dark and not the best location. This may or may not be true for you. If your lighting is poor then change where you apply your makeup or change the lighting.
