7 Mascaras to Actually Help Your Lashes Grow ...

I’m always on the lookout for great new mascara, especially a new mascara to help grow lashes. But with so many mascaras making so many claims, how do you know which mascaras actually help grow lashes, and which are just hype? I can help. I’ve tested dozens of mascaras, and would love to share what I learned. Here are 7 mascaras that actually help your lashes grow, just like they promise. Are you ready for long, lush lashes? Let’s go!

1 Diorshow Maximizer Lash Plumping Serum

Price: $28.00 at sephora.com
I confess: sometimes I use this lash plumper serum as mascara itself, even though it’s meant to be a base for another Dior mascara. It visibly lengthens my lashes, and nourishes them with hydrolyzed soy proteins, so they’re able to grow longer and thicker… technically, this isn’t a mascara to help grow lashes, but it sure works like one!

2 Noir G De Guerlain Exceptional Complete Mascara

Price: $49.00 at sephora.com
This mascara helps lashes grow with a unique keratin complex, and it has the inkiest, slinkiest formula! I love the brush, too, and the case is refillable, so it’s eco-friendly. Want to apply mascara on the go? This case also has a built-in mirror… so clever!

3 Urban Decay Lush Lash System

Price: $42.00 at sephora.com
This is my very favorite mascara to help grow lashes. It’s a two-step system. First, apply a peptide gel to your lash line with a tiny brush, then coat your lashes with the jet-black mascara, which contains more conditioners to lengthen and strengthen your lashes. The label promises thicker lashes in two weeks, and it’s true!

4 Shiseido Nourishing Mascara Base

Price: $24.00 at sephora.com
Shiseido believes that conditioned lashes are healthier, and they’re right! This mascara base contains conditioners to nourish lashes. Again, it’s not a mascara itself, but an ideal base to help your lashes grow, and to keep your mascara looking great all day long.

5 Clinique Lash Building Primer

Price: $14.00 at sephora.com
This primer has been tested by ophthalmologists, so you know it won’t irritate your eyes. It’s another mascara to help grow lashes that’s more of a base than a topcoat, but I love to wear it alone for a natural look.

6 Tarte MultiplEYE Clinically-Proven Natural Lash Enhancing Primer

Price: $22.00 at sephora.com
The name really says it all, doesn’t it? Tarte’s unique formula encourages your lashes to grow, and strengthens the ones you already have, up to, they claim, more than 700%. That’s a lot of lashes! I like this base, but I wouldn’t recommend wearing it alone; definitely wear it under your regular mascara.

7 Tarina Tarantino Fleur De Lash

Price: $19.00 at sephora.com
I love this brush! This mascara contains the same conditioners we use in our hair, and gives a very dramatic look. The ultra-lush brush coats every lash, and the mascara is designed not to flake or clump. Marvelous!

With so many mascaras to help grow lashes, there’s no reason to use regular mascara again! I especially love the ones you can wear on their own, without a topcoat of regular mascara — they’re great for a natural look, while still growing your lashes! Which of these mascaras have you tried, and which do you like best? Which do you think helped grow thicker, longer lashes? Or is there another mascara to help grow lashes you like more? Do tell!
