As you may or may not know, there are many ways to make your face look thinner using make-up. I don’t wear make-up myself anymore, but when I did, I learned many things about it from my mother, who worked at a make-up counter. That’s why I’ve decided to pass down some of my make-up knowledge on to you. Even though I don’t wear make-up anymore, I used to wear it a lot and know a lot about how to make your face look thinner using make-up.
To make your face look thinner using make-up, it is a good idea to wear the lightest possible shade of lipstick. That would include the neutrals and pinks, not the reds. Picking a shade of lipstick that doesn’t stand out as much and is closer to your skin color will make it seem like you are blending your lips into your face. That means your lips appear extended and lengthened to make you look thinner. The lighter the shade of lipstick, the better!
If you are looking to slim your cheeks down with make-up, here’s how you do it. Start by selecting a good-quality bronzer to apply to your face. The key here is to apply it to emphasize your cheekbones. You do that by putting it on your cheekbone and extending down to your chin. It is a good idea to use a touch darker shade than your own skin color to make a shadow. This shadow will make your face look thin and more angular, as it creates a heart-shaped face out of a rounded one.
Depending on how much blush you apply to your face, it can actually make your face look rounder. If you have round cheeks, applying blush to them will just emphasize them further. That’s why it’s a good idea to go easy on the blush if you have a rounder face. Stick to neutrals if you must apply something. Also, make sure you blend the blush lightly into your face with a brush so that it appears to be lengthening your skin if you do use a neutral color.
If you really want to make your face look thinner using make-up, apply more eye shadow. Emphasizing your eyes will take away from the rounder parts of your face. That means putting on bold eye shadow, eyeliner, and mascara will help your face look thinner. However, you don’t want to go too overboard so that you look messy – you want just enough to attract attention to your eyes. Matching the color of eye shadow with the color of your eyes can also help create a sense of unity and therefore will lengthen your face as they will appear to be a whole.
If you have issues with a double chin, this little trick can help. By applying a bronzer several shades darker than your skin color, you can reduce the appearance of a double chin. Apply it right under your jawline and under your chin. This will create a shadow under your chin that will hide the appearance of a double chin. Don’t get too dark of a bronzer though, as that can make it look too noticeable, which is not the goal here.
If you are one of those people who believe you will look thin if you have thin eyebrows – freeze! Having full eyebrows actually makes your face look thinner. That is because it takes away from the roundness of the face, and balances it out. Of course, you want to pluck to make sure you don’t get a unibrow, but you still don’t need to over-pluck your eyebrows. It will not make you look thinner like you may have normally thought.
Making sure your skin is properly moisturized is one of the best things you can do for your skin. Not only that, but it will also make your face appear thinner. It does this by making your skin tone more even instead of dry and blotchy. When your skin is more even and appears nourished, your face will look longer and extended. Make sure you apply a good-quality, organic moisturizer to your face if you want the best results.
Even though I no longer wear make-up, I did wear a lot at one point and have many tricks to share. If you try some of these tricks out, you will have your face looking thinner in no time! What is your favorite make-up trick to make your face look thinner?
